The Limbourg Brothers Foundation was established in 2003 for the purpose of promoting the recognition of the Nijmegen-born Limbourg-Maelwael artistic lineage. To this end, the Limbourg Brothers Foundation has organised an exhibition at Museum Het Valkhof in Nijmegen. In addition, the Foundation has arranged for the publication of a book and calendar, as well as the production of a film, all highlighting the lives and work of Nijmegen's celebrated native sons. An intensive and successful fund-raising campaign has drawn support from around the globe to help offset the cost of these extraordinary events.

The Limbourg Brothers Foundation's primary objective is to give the life and work of the Limbourg brothers their rightful place in Nijmegen, the city where they were born and spent their youth. The Foundation board is comprised of:
